There are over 40 major islands in Puget Sound, and many smaller ones, and I seem to have managed to take photos of most of them!! That’s an exaggeration but we did pass a lot on our way out to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. Another beautiful sunny day, and the locals keep telling us how unusual this hot sunny weather is – especially day after day. I have to say I am a bit disappointed as I was looking for a respite from the heat of a Savannah August. The journey took 4 hours and there was plenty to see and plenty to learn, as we had another National Park Ranger talking with us along the way.
