Our final train journey. It has been a wonderful experience, and I can’t praise Amtrak and their staff highly enough. Another overnight, but before it got dark we saw Glacier National Park again from the train, and into Idaho. In the morning we were in Washington state.
There is a wonderful system on the westbound Amtrak trains called “Trails and Rails” which is run in cooperation with the National Park Service. We heard commentary way back in Minnesota and North Dakota, and now again this morning in Washington. Volunteers ride the trains in order to tell us what is happening along the way. I really enjoyed this as I do like to know where I am!
