As I’ve been admiring my own flower beds this late spring, as they look better and better after all our recent rain, I’ve been remembering some of the wonderful gardens I visited during my 13 years overseas. One of my very favorite is Keukenhof Gardens outside of Amsterdam in Holland. It was founded in 1892, and contains over 60,000 bulbs, which are planted fresh each and every year. I spent a very rainy day there in May 1996, and the gardens were unbelievably beautiful.
