I’m on my way to visit my cousin Terry in Bostic, North Carolina, and decided to drive through Columbia, SC on my way. I’ve never before been in Columbia, and discovered a nice old-fashioned downtown, and the Museum of Art. I spent an enjoyable few hours wandering around the museum and the downtown area.
The special exhibition was called “Van Gogh and his Inspirations”, but I hadn’t expected that it would be ALL artists that he admired. They were lesser-known French impressionists. I didn’t recognize any of the names, or the paintings. But still, it was a good visit, and it’s a very nice museum. There was an interesting lecture before I went into the special exhibition.
